Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. The occasion celebrates African American freedom and achievement, while encouraging continuous self-development and respect for all cultures.

2019 Juneteenth Celebration

The June 1st event will begin at 12 Noon with a Freedom Walk around the Edison Job Corps grounds.

The day's activities will highlight the freeing of the slaves in Texas two years after the passing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Immediately following the Freedom Walk there will be food, activities, music, entertainment and fun for the children. Vendors will be on site offering African clothing, jewelry, beauty products, voter registration, HIV/AIDS education and testing, bullying awareness and education and much more.

This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome. For vending opportunities, send your information to: info@naacpmeab.org
