“Stepping into STEM” at Edison Job Corps introduces a STEM career oriented curriculum designed to provide the students at Edison Job Corps a career-based training leading to the exposure of employment opportunities in the field of STEM.
The program is delivered by Emmett’s Place Inc. (501C-3) and is supported by the Office of Faith Based Initiatives, a division of Programs in the Department of State.
“Stepping into Stem” focuses on proficiency in alignment to current local labor market needs. Supporting these core competencies will ensure each participant a qualified readiness towards internships, apprenticeships, and employment within today’s local job market in the field of STEM.
“Stepping into Stem” is supported by the local business and education community in the form of mentorship, guest presentations, and corporate visits/tours. Local support include Rutgers University, Middlesex County Community College, Lincoln Technical Institute, and local business entities. The program takes place at Job Corps Center in Edison NJ and operates on a weekly basis.
